Message from IALLA's President, Philip Nowicki (GA)

January 2008

Greetings:

Our annual conferences have been an integral part of the fulfillment of IALLA’s mission.  Our first conference was held in Austin, TX.  Since then we have met in San Diego, CA; Orlando, FL; Burlington, VT; Columbus, OH; Seattle, WA; San Francisco, CA; and, this past year, in Atlantic City, NJ.  Our conference attendees have been primarily state government officials, automobile and recreational vehicle manufacturer representatives, attorneys, and arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution program managers.

We’ve enjoyed some fascinating speakers along the way: Dennis Jay from the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud in Orlando; Bill Lockyer, the Attorney General of California, in San Diego; Ed Lapham, the Executive Editor of Automotive News, in Seattle; and Warren Brown from The Washington Post in Atlantic City, to name a few.  We are grateful to our members, subscribers and other participants for taking part in our lemon law, arbitration and other motor vehicle issue workshops and panel discussions, as well as being there to support IALLA.

Plans are already under way for our September 16-18, 2008 fall conference in Sacramento.  We’ll have more to share on this in the coming months.  We plan to present interesting topics and provide outstanding speakers and panelists in anticipation of this being the best conference ever.  Please stay tuned for more on our conference as it becomes available.

We want to again thank our generous 2007 Conference Sponsors.  For a listing, please click here.  We very much look forward to working with you in 2008 and hope to see you in Sacramento.

Sincerely,

Philip Nowicki, Ph.D.
